Trappe VFC recently took delivery on their newest apparatus, a 3500-gallon stainless steel elliptical tanker from UST Fire Apparatus.  In addition to a large water tank capacity, this tanker is loaded with features.  It rides on a Kenworth T800 Series chassis with a Cummins ISX15 500 horsepower engine, an Allison EVS 4500 transmission, a 20K front axle and 46K rear axle.

The body is a custom-engineered 304 stainless steel body with stainless steel underbody support structure and water tank cradle.  It includes DS & PS ¾ height compartments, two (2) suction hose compartments, a Zico Port-a-Tank rack and Whelen Pioneer PCP2 telescoping scene lights.

The firefighting system features:

•Waterous CSUC20 1500-gpm pump
•Stainless steel plumbing
•3500-gallon, poly elliptical water tank
•Fireman’s Friend direct tank fills
•Two (2) 2.5 discharges, DS
•One (1) 2.5 discharge, PS
•4” LDH discharge
•10” dumps with cab and body dump controls; rear dump is electric air actuated
•Two (2) 1.75” crosslay preconnects
•Three 93) large water level gauge with Whelen 500 Series LEDs

The emergency warning devices include a Q2B siren, LED rotoray, Whelen Justice lightbar, Whelen TANF65 Traffic Advisor, and a complete Whelen NFPA emergency warning light package.
