Ever want to save money on one of your biggest operating expenses?  How about fuel?  Well, that’s one of the reasons that Demers Ambulances developed the only proprietary anti-idling system in the ambulance industry.  Known as EcoSmart, their anti-idling system creates an intelligent, super-efficient anti-idling engine, which has resulted in fuel savings of $1,500 – $2,000 / year for Demers users, depending on their response profile.  That’s based on approximately a 40% reduction in fuel consumption during idle time.  Plus, it is estimated to reduce CO2 emissions by 4.5 tons / year / ambulance.  It also reduces engine hours, which tends to contribute to lower repair costs and less time spent out of service for routine service checks.

The operation is straightforward.  The EcoSmart system activates based on preset voltage and temperature limits that you determine.  It turns the chassis engine on, as needed, to maintain patient module temperatures and voltage.  To learn more about how it works, download the brochure.

EcoSmart ties into Demers Electronic Management System (DEMS), which is Demers’ version of multiplexing, but includes lifetime free software upgrades, complimentary remote diagnostics.  DEMS has been in use for more than 10 years and in over 2,000 ambulances.  It is ultra reliable with a warranty occurrence rate of just 0.1%.

Once you think about it, doesn’t it make sense to save money on ambulance operation and be environmentally friendly?
